About GiftAbled Foundation.

GiftAbled foundation was formed 2013 as public charitable trust working in area of Education, Health, skilling of people with disability.

It’s a thought that we all can live with dignity and earn our responsible livelihood. People with disability may not fit into typical societal norms or silos due to their physical limitation. However, that should not be considered a reason to portray them fit only for charity. They can and will contribute towards building a just, sensitive and healthy society. To start looking at their Abilities-GiftAbled!!!

Project Swatantra

is an attempt in making rural persons with disabilities and their care takers self-sufficient, economically independent by giving them relevant employable skills, in partnership with local NGO’s. The main aim of this program is to enhance the quality of life of Persons with Disabilities and their care takers through increased life skills, laws related to disability, marketing and financial knowledge through employable skills program.

This program provides disability region- specific skill based training and which will lead to livelihood opportunities for People with Disabilities and their Caretakers. Swatantra operates in the following 3 models:
  • 1. Operational Training support given to NGO partners who are working with PwD and other marginalized minority groups.
  •  
  •  
  • 2. Capacity building trainings in Business & Financial management skills for NGO top management who are aligned to product-based training and are trying to successfully promote their centres as production units.
  •  
  •  
  • 3. Train the Trainer workshops for NGOs and others who would like to get product specific trainings at GiftAbled Training Academy.

Objectives

1. To empower 1,00,000 People with Disabilities and their caretakers self reliant through employment, craft unit, or micro-entrepreneurship by 2025.
2. To Upskill the trainers working in the space of vocational training with new craft skills, hence building the capacity of the trainers.

Steps to apply for funding for the project.

Step1:Adetailedneedassessmentstudyofpeople with disabilities needs along with their communities.
Step2:Based on the need assessment, create detailed program strategies implementation plan for this project key elements of this plan would include.
  •    1. People with Disabilities from rural most communities at the block or district level.
  •  
  •    2. Organization to survey People with Disability and collect the data.      
  •  
  •    3. Skill training interventions at community level. 
  •  
  •    4.  A detailed skill development and financial inclusion plan.
  •  
  •    5. Awareness about state and central government schemes for people with disabilities in the community level.
  •  
  •    6. Resource and support of social worker, local Grampanchayat members, local government or other resource and identifying affected People with Disability and convincing the caretakers/parents as well as the community to be a part of the project.
This implementation plan would be reviewed by GiftAbled foundation and finalized before the actual on ground implementation.

Applicant full filling the following criteria can apply.

  • 1. Must have 5 years of working experience in Community Based Rehabilitation and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in skill development program.
  •  
  •  2. Strong network with the community and state govt stakeholders.
  •  
  •  3. The implementing partner should have a prominent presence and work experience in the areas of operation.
  •  
  •  4. Submit two reports of successfully completed work in last 3 year as an implementer.
  •  
  •  5. Have good infrastructure equipment’s and Proper accessibility.
  •  
  •  6. Have good communication infrastructure in place (internet, email).

2. Proposal shall consist of a detailed implementation plan along with budget and should be sent by email with a copy of all the relevant documents as stated above.
3. Last date proposal submission is 12th January 2021 up to 5pm. The shortlisted applicants will be informed for further action.
4. Application is invited from Karnataka, Andar Pradesh, Uttara Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Odisha.
