Today, on International Sign Language Day, I got a unique opportunity to attend an enthusing Workshop on Sign Language by GiftAbled in partnership with Google.Together, 200 of us learnt how to say yes, no, sorry, thank you, A-Z, how to find our sign language names and basic sentences within an hour. We also learnt that there are more than 300 sign languages and not one universal followed by all. Facial expressions and emotions are as critical in communicating via sign language as in verbal and we learnt how to express more using our hands and faces.Incredible to see people come together to learn to support those with hearing impairments and TAB (Temporarily Abled Body, aren't we all?). A huge thank you to our warm and zealous host, Prarthana Kaul for this enlightening session. Looking forward to learning more on this and eventually being a volunteer.
