GiftAbled supported early intervention and Spinal cord injury centre patients in providing the support with aids and appliances nearly 100 beneficiaries got splint, Clutches, AFO’s etc.
Support in Sanitary Napkin Incinerator
Hearing Impaired girls will be most ignored when it comes to their personal health. Girls from rural part are made to stay indoors. GiftAbled after finding the need supported BD tatti school, Gadag with sports equipment’s and sanitary napkin incinerator.
GiftAbled along with Mitra Jyothi conducted a camp to understand requirement of Visually impaired girls at Koppal and Raichur. It was heartbreaking to see and listen to the stories.
After spending half a day discussions with all the girls, they showed the interest in learning mobility and life skill development.
GiftAbled conducted workshop at Koppal on “Menstrual and Maternal health for women with disabilities “. 40 hearing impaired and care takers were part of the same.
#GiftAbled in association with Narayana Nethralaya conducted an eye check-up camp for the deaf studen Adarsha College. 61 students were examined by the eye specialist. Few students were advised to visit the hospital for further examination. This was the first time Narayana Nethralaya conducted a camp for the deaf. 30-40% of students for the first time met an eye specialist.
GiftAbled presents first ever hospital to get sensitized towards disability – stepping into every person with disabilities’ shoes. We had a good participation of 16 nurses and staff and 4 doctors. The nurses shared that they had come across people with disability before, but today they understood them and their difficulties on a deeper level due to the workshop and are now confident they can help them in the right manner. The doctors are not just sensitized but are now more than happy to see their hospital being more inclusive.
53 hearing impaired women participation 3 hours of session making it a huge success!! Health intiative by GiftAbled, covering many women related issues. Lot of questions by HI’s was patiently answered by Dr. Shaibya Saldanha and interpreted by Suma.
